Exploring NYC with Maui Jim

The summer has finally come to a close and fall is now upon us… This specific time of year is definitely my favorite because some days are still quite hot while others are a bit chilly (the other day it was 91 degrees in NYC and I went to the beach… Then the day after I was wearing a light sweater!). Anywho, I partnered with Maui Jim over fashion week a few weeks back to give you guys a look at some of their new sunglasses! I thought it would be super fun to bike around and show you some of NYC through “my perspective”.

I picked out the Leia in Tokyo tortoise as I’m a huge fan of rounder shaped glasses. I love tortoise colored sunglasses so that color was really a no brainer for me. My day started of at Happy Bones (I know, huge shock, right? haha) with a cortado and an almond croissant (I ate it before taking the picture :/ )...

After Happy Bones I biked along through Nolita and over the Manhattan Bridge to Dumbo. Dumbo is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC. It’s super small but there’s so much to see and discover. There’s the classic street shot with the bridge in the background but there’s so much more than that. My favorite thing to do is walk along the water north of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge as you’ll avoid all the tourists closer to the Brooklyn Bridge. If you go on a weekday, make sure to checkout the food trucks on the “Dumbo Lot”... My absolute favorite truck is called Sweet Chili (get the pork belly with mango salad. Trust me). If you’re in the area too, go to Brooklyn Roasting too!

Once I left Dumbo, I biked back over the Manhattan Bridge and headed to Madison Square Park/The Flatiron Building. Sitting on the west side of the park during golden hour watching the sun drip down the Flatiron Building and 5th ave glow has to be one of my favorite things to see in the city. It’s truly magical and make you appreciate NYC so much.

After biking all day, I headed back to my apartment in Soho to change for the evening and headed out to some fashion week parties… The night got pretty crazy, so I will leave you with a beautiful rooftop photo from the venue…. If you follow me on Instagram, I’m sure you saw all the shenanigans on my story. Until next time guys!
